The Caley Mail
Baby, it’s cold outside……
February has arrived and with it the Christmas and New Year cobwebs are finally shaken off. It’s time to grab the opportunities 2017 offers us with both hands and forget about all the foolhardy new year resolutions we set ourselves and ultimately failed to fulfil in record time.
January did see us celebrate a beautiful occasion which saw Lianne & Anthony leave officially as Mr & Mrs Collison. It was an absolute pleasure to look after this wonderful young couple on the happiest day of their life and we wish them many more years of happiness together.
Of course the big occasion in February is St Valentine’s Day. The time of year we turned to our loved ones and protest that "We don’t need presents. We show each other every day how much we are in love”. Gentlemen, THIS IS A TRAP!! - At least I’ve still not been forgiven for making this error 3 years ago. Lesson learned.
We will be running a special Valentine’s menu on the 14th of course as well as on Saturday 11th & Saturday 18th too. We still have limited availability so make that call and bring your dearly beloved to Caley for a special stay.
Another school holiday is due to befall us in February as half term arrives and we get to welcome back the young families who can rush down to the beach to make ice-castles and bury their parents in the snow.
- DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately I cannot guarantee snow, I base this solely on the fact that the Daily Mail have been forecasting a complete "White-out” with a minimum of 3 meters of the cold stuff for the past 6 years.
On Friday 24th February we will be hosting a special quiz night with the proceeds going to Macmillan nurses. Last year I myself witnessed just how wonderful these nurses are and just how much they offer in terms of caring for those suffering with cancer and the support they offer to all who are affected around them. These truly are incredible ladies and gentleman and deserve all of our appreciation so I do hope you hope you join us in what I’m positive will be an evening full of fun & laughter. (Except of course for the "serious team”, there’s always a "serious” team).
In case that isn’t enough excitement the 28th Feb is the one day of the year where not only do we accept being called "tossers”, we brag about how skilled we are at doing it! Of course I refer to Pancake Day. In my experience this tends to also be the only day of the year you notice that your kitchen ceiling needs a going over with a roller and your non-stick saucepans are in all actuality, a myth.
Also February always raises the burning question which I will leave you with.
- If you are born during a leap year on the 29th February, when do you celebrate your birthday?
