Please don’t take my sunshine away…
Someone put the brakes on please!!! July, already?!
I was always told that times flies past quicker the older you get but this is just getting daft now. At this rate I’m going to have to start decorating the Christmas tree in March so I don’t miss out.
So what does July bring to the table? For us it brings customers. Lovely, cheerful and charismatic customers. With our collection of flexible room types we have something to offer everyone whether it be families, young couples, business guests or the blue rinse brigade. All of our young staff have now finished their schooling for another ridiculous amount of weeks and are ready to be run around ragged whilst earning enough money to take to the shops for sweets & YoYo’s (Or whatever it is they do nowadays).
Some may think that working flat out through the holidays would be hard but for me it’s a relaxing break compared to the alternative – being at home for 6 weeks with the unstoppable tornadoes of destruction I call my children. However, having been a boy scout I’m always prepared. I have thought up a number of games to keep them occupied such as Pin the tail on the Chicken, this always works best with a live chicken who can run much, much faster than a 5 or 6 year old.
Wimbledon is off and running already so the urge to slip into our whites and spend an extortionate amount of money on a tennis racquet kicks in. Ultimately the racquet will be useless and the balls not bouncy enough – what is the saying about a poor workmen?
It is always worth remembering that with July comes the sunshine and we have the perfect selection of cold beers, wines, soft drinks and of course homemade Ice creams. With our lovely sun drenched terrace open to everyone what possible reason can there be to not pop down and see us.
