Sandringham Estate and EAAASTER EGG Trail

Sandringham to me is one of the most defining places of Norfolk, Iíve been asked on several occasions Ďwhere do you liveí and when Iíve replied ĎHunstantoní and received a blank face, Iíve gone on to mention Sandringham and all of a sudden the blank face changes and they begin to talk about the queen.

Iíve been visiting the Sandringham Estate for the last thirty years. I have great memories as a young child, we visited every year to meet up with family and explore the walks, enjoy a picnic and always a game of rounders. These days I take my own two hooligans who enjoy playing on the well-equipped park and biking around the grounds. We will certainly be going along to enjoy the EAAASTER EGG trail on Saturday 20th April between 10am and 3pm, raising money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. Fingers crossed itís dry this year, I have memories of muddy boots and soggy socks from last year.

I have probably been to the Sandringham Estate 100 times so I am ashamed to say that I have never been inside the house or church. Something I plan to change very soon, I am definitely going to do it this year so keep your eyes peeled for another blog!

Sandringham is certainly worth a visit when in Norfolk, car parking is free and itís the perfect place to stop off and stretch your legs or let your four-legged friend out for a run. A visit to the café is highly recommended, the food is really fresh and delicious with everything from homemade soup, freshly made sandwiches and home cooked meals to freshly baked scones or a slab of chocolate cake. If you have all day then a visit to the house, museum and gardens is £17.50 per person with discounts for families and senior citizens.

There is a farmers market on the fourth Sunday of every month and new for 2019 is the introduction of the open-air theatre on Wednesday 12th June so if youíre in the area and fancy a spot of ĎMuch Ado About Nothingí then get your tickets now!
